Whenever I make or receive a call my phone automatically picks up on speaker phone.  I looked for a topic on the site to see if this had been addressed and I couldn't find anything.  so how do I get this to stop!

Thanks

this happened to me also. i just re-flashed my current rom but im guessing a factory reset would remedy the problem also.

To be honest I have no idea what you mean by "re-flashing my current Rom" and I do.t want to do a factory reset cause I really don't want to mode the music and apps I have. There's gotta be another way.

flashing roms is for rooted phones. you wont lose all you stuff if you do a back-up before you factory reset.

Im still new to the Vivid, but under sound settings there is an option to turn off/on the "flip for speaker". Might just want to check and see if thats activated. Hope it helps

Yeah I've done that and I've also gone though the car panel and seen if that was it with no joy. It's as soon as I dial or pick up a call it goes to speaker before I even move the phone so I don't think that woild be it anyway.

I'm going to sound like a dumbass I know, but how do I back up my phone so when I do the factory reset I don't lose my apps, contacts and so on?

please don't post back to back use the modify option

I finally pulled the battery.  That stopped it for me.

Alright so I'm new to the Vivid myself and i don't this is really my first post on here. I had the same issue with the speaker coming on automatically and couldn't for the life of me figure out what the issue was since my phone was only about a week old. This may not be the case for everyone but it worked in my case.

I had just recently downloaded Tango to chit chat with and when i was using it, had the speaker phone option turned on. Well apparently when i quit using the app I didn't turn the speaker phone option off. I read another site that said that might be the issue so I uninstalled Tango and taaadaaa! it worked. Apparently there are other apps that may have utilized the speaker phone option as well that were causing the same issue, so if you recently downloaded an app like that you may try removing it and see if that fixes the problem.

If that doesn't fix the problem then i just wasted my whole 15 minute break typing this out and you will realize why I'm still new to the Vivid. haha

Hope it works folks!   Cool
